Graphic Design for Entertainment - 8th Term

A fictional concert poster for Dewey Cox from the movie "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," in reference of the real poster of Bob Dylan & Joan Baez.

A scene from the song "Phantom 309"

Some of my roughs

Final project is to create street scene and poster based on a certain period of a city. I chose Las Vegas in 1960 as my topic. The first assignment is a concert poster of Sam Harmon (Dean Martin) from the movie Ocean's 11. I made with reference of a 1960 ad and some other posters.

Then I have to create two street scenes. The first one is to create a fake casino on the street of Las Vegas.

The second piece is a rundown motel that is far from the great part of Las Vegas.

I don't really like to draw architectures and backgrounds too much, so this class is quite difficult and not so interesting for me. Nonetheless, I think I have learned much from this class and I really hope I could work on the street scenes a little more. I am sure they could be improved more but I was kind of stuck on how to finish them...
And the neon effect is quite fun, although it really takes time to make the paths...
